Bharatiya
Jain Sanghatana has always offered its relentless service
in the trying times of manmade and natural calamities and
the earthquake relief work in Killari - Maharashtra is the
proof of the same. At that time, BJS was first to spring to
action even before the first appeals for the rescue were made.
Rescue camps were immediately set up and 30,000 people were
provided food, shelter and medical aid for almost a month.
Here again BJS realized the call of the hour and took the
bold decision of shifting about 1,000 unfortunate students
to Pune. The WERC centre established at Wagholi was the result
of the commitment of BJS to rehabilitate these students. Whether
it is the malnutrition problem at Melghat or the earthquake
at Killari or Jabalpur or the problem of orphan children,
the children have always been our focus.
